PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Bill Hirsch Gas Tank Etch is the premier solution for removing rust from the interior of metal fuel tanks. It is specifically engineered to prepare the metal surface for a permanent bond with fuel tank sealers.
Safe & Eco-Friendly: This formula is non-flammable, non-toxic, non-corrosive, and biodegradable. Effective Rust Removal: Designed to eliminate interior rust and create an ideal surface profile for sealer adhesion. Versatile Application: Best results are achieved when used in temperatures over 70 deg F.
Directions For Use: Initial Prep: Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle, drain all fuel, and ventilate thoroughly. Strip Components: Remove the sending unit, float, feed lines, and filters to prevent them from being clogged by the later sealer application. Seal Openings: Cover all holes with wide duct tape, leaving only the main filler hole open for the etch and sealer. Clean First: Ensure the tank is dry inside. If any gum, sludge, or shellac remains, clean the tank with Bill Hirsch "MIRACLE" Degreaser and Cleaner before proceeding.
Etching Process: Pour in the entire 16 fl. oz. bottle and slosh thoroughly to cover all interior surfaces. Let the tank stand for 30 minutes, repeat the sloshing, and then let it stand for 1 final hour. Final Drying: Drain all remaining etch and allow the tank to air dry thoroughly. Once dry, the tank is ready for sealing.
