FAQ Highlights

What makes Super Black different from standard black paint?

This is a high-tech, semi-gloss coating designed specifically for the toughest restoration environments. It has withstood a 550-hour salt spray test without breaking down, making it far more durable than standard finishes. Unlike moisture-cured urethanes, it adheres well to smooth or primed surfaces.

Where can I use this product?

It is ideal for car chassis, undercarriages, frames, firewalls, under-hood parts, and various automotive accessories. How should I prepare the surface?Removed Parts: Sandblasting or beadblasting to bare metal is best for removing old finish, rust, or scale. Alternatively, use a commercial paint remover or stripper.

Parts on the Car:

While bare metal is ideal, you only need to clean the area well enough for the paint to adhere. All traces of dirt, oil, grease, and old undercoating must be removed. The Final Clean: Always wipe parts down with lacquer thinner or Prep Sol. Avoid turpentine or other thinners, as they may leave an oily residue that prevents adhesion.

Do I need a primer?

Yes. Prime all areas with Zinc Chromate or another high-quality primer.

What are the application requirements?

Temperature & Humidity: Apply when temperatures are between 60-80 deg F. Avoid painting if the temperature or humidity is above 80% to prevent wrinkling.

Aerosol Use: Apply a very fine mist coat, let it set for 1–2 minutes, then apply a heavy coat (avoiding runs).

Brush Use: A rubber or foam sponge brush is recommended for a mark-free finish. Try to finish in one application; if a second coat is needed, apply it within 1–2 minutes before the first coat sets up
